I’m tired of this, grandpa.
This sums up my life at the moment. Your boy is tired, and at the rate I’m going, my anticipated break from comics isn’t going to happen until next month. However, I’m on the back stretch of my current WFH material, so that’s always a good thing especially after a rather short Father’s Day Weekend. Let’s take a look into my mind, shall we?
Interstellar Dust Omnibus 1 is now live!
As the newly minted editor of Interstellar Dust, a sci-fi action comic with its fair share of NSFW, it would be a disservice to not speak on its current launch on Kickstarter! CJ Hudson is one hell of a talent in the comic book industry. This comic is his magnum opus in a way, telling the story of a ragtag group of people from all walks of life in a galaxy spanning adventure with humble beginnings in the Antarctic Press title OFFWORLD, before spinning out in a second volume that lasted 4 issues under the publisher. I love this series and it’s something that I want to see continue for many years to come, so I’d love it if you backed the book today as every pledge helps to keep great comics like this alive.
Comfort Food Comics and Comic Crash Course.
As you all know, I have two segments I run on this newsletter. Comfort Food Comics speaks on comics that I love and can find comfort from, while my Comic Crash Course is for those who are looking to break into the industry in a quick educational style of postings to get their skills polished and ready for takeoff. I’ve got a new batch of posts coming soon, as it’s been quite a busy time drafting up those posts one after another before scheduling them. I do enjoy doing these segments and hope to see them evolve into something more one day of possible.
What Am I Working On?
• Magni the Mighty #2 relaunch. The prelaunch page is nearly complete but needs to be tweaked more. And at this rate about half the art is done with some color. If things go as planned, I can get nearly all the art done and half the colors too. This book is really special and I wanna keep it going for as long as I can afford to with all your support.
•Secret Project Ballerina. This is a special book, and a family collaboration between my wife and I. If all goes well, I’d like to get the interior art going sooner than later once we get things figured out.
•Oz Stone: Paranormal Investigator. A great collaboration with artist Michael Pickard. We are currently 10 pages in thumbnail wise, so I’m looking forward to seeing how art comes along over time. And before long will share it with all you cool folks!
•The Lion of Olympus #1 is done! Backers have gotten their rewards yesterday, and for those who missed out can get digitals on the online store sometime next week. Print files are being prepped to send to the printer, then it’ll be more waiting to move into the last bit of fulfillment. I hate to keep folks waiting, but sometimes good things are worth waiting for.
That’s all the main stuff I’ve got going on! There are plenty of books I’ve written that will slowly come out over the next few years — if all goes accordingly — so I hope you stick around to see what’s cooking.
